 Registration for Fall of our Spring Session opens on November 15th with a special Early Bird Rate. Our Spring concert will take place on Sunday May 26th in the beautiful auditorium at the Scottish Rite Masonic Centre. Recitals for Prima, Vivace and Scherzo Chorus will take place the week of May 13th. Please check back here soon for more information!

Chorus Levels and Rehearsal Information

Prima Chorus: (PreK and K) No Audition/Tuition $385.00 before December 15th $400.00 after December 15thA joyful introduction to singing and musicianship firmly grounded in the Kodaly and Orff Methods. Instruments, movement, and engaging songs and warm-ups are the heart of this curriculum. Prima singers are featured in a winter recital in the Fall and both our full-chorus concert and a recital in the Spring. Additional Outreach Concert opportunities at retirement homes and local events will also be offered.

Classes start the week of January 14th and run through the week of May 26th.

Wednesdays 4:00-4:50  at First United Presbyterian on Sloat between 34th and 35th Avenues.

Scherzo Chorus: (First, Second and Third Grade) No Audition/Tuition $395.00 before December 15th $415.00 after December 15th  A continued exploration of singing and musicianship firmly grounded in the Kodaly and Orff Methods. Children will work on pitch-matching, vocal tone, vowel production, and breathing technique while studying a variety of songs from around the world. Bi-weekly theory assignments are sent home for marking. Instruments, movement, and engaging songs and warm-ups are the heart of this curriculum. Children also work on being excellent performers with impeccable stage presence. Scherzo singers are featured in a winter recital and full chorus Winter concert in the Fall and our full-chorus concert and a recital in the Spring. Additional Outreach Concert opportunities at retirement homes and local events will also be offered.

Wednesdays 4:50-5:50 (Cowen) at First United Presbyterian on Sloat between 34th and 35th Avenues.

Felice Chorus: (*Third, Fourth and Fifth Grade) Half-Year Tuition $400.00 before before December 15th $425.00 after December 15th This chorus is comprised of talented young singers in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade who have successfully completed an audition. Felice singers focus on developing a beautiful and unified vocal tone while refining intonation and vowel production. Extensive work on vocal technique grounded in healthy breath support and yoga-based exercises. Singers will learn songs from several cultures and ethnic backgrounds, as well as classical songs, broadway and Jazz. Brief musicianship lessons will be worked into each rehearsal and combined rehearsal with Cantando Singers will take place as part of the concert preparation. Felice singers are significantly featured in our full chorus Winter concert in the Fall and our full-chorus concert in the Spring. Additional Outreach Concert opportunities at retirement homes and local events will also be offered. Select Felice singers will also be invited to perform in special concerts and touring events.

Brief singing assessment prior to enrollment. Only select third graders. 

Tuesdays 4:45-6:15 (Gerber) at Lawton School, 1570 31st Avenue.

Wednesdays 4:45-6:15 (Gerber/Wolfe) at First United Presbyterian on Sloat between 34th and 35th Avenues.

Cantando Girls (Fifth-Eighth Grade) $450.00 before December 15th $475.00 after December 15th.

Cantando Girls Chorus is comprised of talented singers in 5th-8th grade who have successfully completed an audition. Cantando singers focus on developing a beautiful and unified vocal tone while refining intonation and vowel production, and expanding their vocal range. Extensive work on vocal technique grounded in healthy breath support and yoga-based exercises. Singers will learn songs from several cultures and ethnic backgrounds, as well as classical songs, broadway and Jazz. Cantando also works regularly with our resident choreographer for each of our main performances. Brief musicianship lessons will be worked into each rehearsal and combined rehearsal. They are significantly featured in our full chorus Winter concert in the Fall and our full-chorus concert in the Spring. Additional Outreach Concert opportunities at retirement homes and local events will also be offered. Cantando singers will also be invited to perform in special concerts and touring events.

Boychoir (Fifth-Eighth Grade) $450.00 before December 15th $475.00 after December 15th.

Boychoir is comprised of boys in grades 5-8, combining treble voices, changing voices and changed voices. The repertoire will be carefully selected to promote healthy singing and vocal development while providing marvelous opportunity to sing in a variety of styles and languages. Brief musicianship lessons will be worked into each rehearsal and combined rehearsal with Cantando Singers will take place as part of the concert preparation.
