SFYC, founded in 2015 by Artistic Director Katherine Gerber, advances the musicianship of children ages 4 and up, in grades PreK-9, in San Francisco, California. Sponsored by Great Adventures Through Education, the after-school chorus of nearly 150 youngsters, across several ensembles, rehearses weekly, August-May, and performs several times throughout the season.

Join the ensembles that fits your age, grade, experience level, and schedule availability for rehearsals once a week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. Grades 3-9 prospective choristers can receive their voice assessment at a 30 minute visit to one of our rehearsals in late August or early September. Grades PreK-3 Open House is the afternoon of August 24.

As part of their award-winning performance in the WorldStrides Anaheim Heritage Festival in March 2019, San Francisco Youth Chorus sings the African-American spiritual, "Shine on Me," arranged by Rollo A. Dilworth who says, "The melody is built on a pentatonic scale, and it utilizes a text that has multiple meanings .
